About the Big Gay Guide

The Big Gay Guide is all about the LGBTQIA+ community. We're here to uplift and support queer people, businesses and events; to help create connections and unique moments.

The Big Gay Guide was created by DJ Ajax Wipe n' Spray out of frustration at how difficult it is to find out what is on. Queer events seem to be only posted on Instagram. And you have to follow the right pages, then you have to rely on the algorithm showing you the events before they happen.

It's a messy system.

There has to be a better way.

So DJ Ajax Wipe n' Spray began coding. Putting together a listing site that aggregates and lists queer events. Thus the Big Gay Guide was born...

Plans for the future

Born in Melbourne - a citizen of the world

The Big Gay Guide began in Melbourne, Australia, but has ambitions to expand to cover all of Australia, and eventually the world.

Our own domain name

We're planning to break the Big Gay Guide out of djajaxwipenspray.com into it's own domain name: biggay.guide

Event creation

The Big Gay Guide began with scraping events from various websites and ticketing platforms. People soon began contacting us to have their events listed. Considering this demand to list events, we decided to develop login and event creation and editing. Planning to have this feature launched in early 2026

Ticketing

We also plan to provide ticketing, so you can list your events, as well as create and sell tickets.

API access

We plan to make the events available through an API so that venues and event producers can easily list their events on their websites.

Notifications

We'd like users to be able to "like" events, and follow event producers, so that they can stay up to date and get alerts about their favourite events

The Big Gay Guide is a Progressive Web App, which means that you can install it to your device home screen. Web Apps support notifications and once you can like and follow, you will be able to receive notifications
